Edinburgh is truly a magical city to visit, especially at this time of year.
I had been to Edinburgh a few times but always just for the day or evening to go to an event or show. I had never really explored the city. So a bit of filming and a bit of tramping around the old town was the plan.
For the past year I have been working freelance as part of a large project for Learning Design Solutions. It has been a brilliant project with some terrific outcomes as you will see in the video. You can read more about the project on the Learning Design Solutions website.
The castle in the background looks amazing don’t you think? That spot is The Vennel and of course is full of history. It dates back to medieval times when it served as a key route connecting the Grassmarket to the surrounding areas.
Filming done, the rest of the day was having a good explore around the Royal Mile and old town, plus a climb up Calton Hill to see some great views of the whole city. Andrew lived in Edinburgh for a while so was a great guide! Of course stopping in at a couple of pubs was essential.
For the techie minded my set up was simple. My Canon EOS R on monopod with a lapel mic. Easy to carry.
Thanks to Andy Wilkin of Penny Films who shot and edited the testimonial videos used in the film.
